Marketplaces, gig & delivery Financial Analyst Interview Loop
Financial analysts at marketplace companies sit in finance rather than data. But the work is very quantitative, and so is the interview: unit economics per trip or order, incentive spend, take rate and contribution by city. The loop is the corporate finance pattern. There's a recruiter call, then a phone screen that's mostly behavioral with a finance question attached. After that come four to five rounds that mix a modeling or business case with several behavioral interviews and a hiring-manager conversation. Uber adds a Bar Raiser.

Finance and data basics under time. The SQL is on order and request tables, like the average cost of each request, orders per status and service, and the most profitable location. In the real loop there are reasoning checks too, like walking through the economics of a delivery.
The analysis the case is built on: revenue loss by status, cost per customer by advertising channel, naive forecasting, driver churn, and orders per status per service.
The business case in marketplace terms: metrics to acquire customers, driving conditions and congestion, and what an operations team should track. The projects carry the math: partner business modeling, driver lifetime value and delivery market modeling. Then there's the chart itself, a stacked bar or an area chart, because you have to show the recommendation. Remember that the incentive you're modeling changes the other side of the market.
