Google Interview Loops

At Google, the screen for data roles happens in a shared Google Doc, not a code editor. You write SQL and answer a schema or analytical question, and you can't run anything. Then come three to five 45-minute interviews, and only after that do you get matched to a team. Every interviewer scores the same two things: how you think, and what you know about the role. So in a case, your reasoning counts as much as your answer. The data scientist loop has more statistics than at any other big platform. The analyst loops vary more. Google hires analysts in Ads, Cloud, gTech, Operations and People, and each one runs its own version. In all of them, you'll be asked to explain your thinking again and again. People who get stuck or fail usually answered before they understood the question.
