Autonomous vehicles & robotics Interview Loops
Engineering interviews in this industry share a shape. There's a live algorithm screen, then an onsite with two or three coding rounds, one system design round set in the domain, and a hiring-manager conversation. The design might be an autonomous vehicle stack, a robot that collects data, or a flight controller. C++ is common, and object-oriented design matters. Data science is reported in depth only at Waymo, where it's SQL and statistics on fleet data rather than algorithms. In both, the domain is what makes it hard: safety events are rare, fleets are shared, and simulation has to be checked against the real world.
